This 40 tooth 8mm REX® bore pinion gear is ready to rip! The bore perfectly matches our 8mm REX® shafting to create a positive drive.
Slip-fit components save real estate when a nearby component can provide the axial constraint. That convenient space-saving accumulates all the more when multiple slip-fit components are used in the same assembly, like a gear train!
Slip-fit components require axial constraint. This can be provided by nearby components, as well as any surfaces that prevent the gear from moving linearly down the length of the shaft. There are many components that can perform this function, from collars, to hubs, to the E-clip of the shaft—and you can even achieve bookend-style constraint via a just-right stack-up of components and spacers to fill space between bearings on a shaft!
A MOD 0.8 gear with 80 teeth or 20 teeth is the perfect partner for this gear when you’re building with goBILDA® channel and want to create a 2:1 ratio (at either a distance of 48mm or 24mm, respectively). Of course, this gear can mesh with any MOD 0.8 gear to produce an underdrive or overdrive ratio—depending on if you’d like to increase the speed, or maximize torque! Notice the built-in-shim on both sides of the gear---this allows you to run right up against an 8mm bearing without the use of a shim!
